| Hey guys, I don't know if any of you still remember me but i'm a relic of this game. :p i'm embarking on a project to try and revitalize this game by getting the community involved in fights and in the fighters themselves. The player base is smaller than ever and that sucks! I want to make the game more appealing to new players, and try to convince old ones to come back. I have a long-term plan on a series of videos i'd like to make and would really just like some input from all facets of the community. The basic videos will include an introduction to the state of the game and a brief history, followed by some simple training videos to help new players deal with the steep learning curve of the game. I'd like Guest speakers in these videos from all parts of the community to add their spice to the training, and if all goes well i'd eventually like to record TFFA's and commentate with as many people from the community as are willing. JA players are very withdrawn, and I want to change that. If anyone would like to discuss this further I have a ventrilo would could use. I'd really like as much input as possible to set the right tone. Also, i could really use the help of a couple "actors" to film some simple in game scenes. Thanks guys! PLEASE contact me if you're interested! Email/facebook -> Luckyone001@gmail.comXfire -> Luckyone001 | |

| Hate to piss in your cheerios, but no one except people who already care about the game to begin with would ever want to sit and watch a series of videos about the game.
If someone told me about another game that was closing in on 10 years old and had a tiny insular player base and said "here, watch these promotional videos about how this game is dying!," i think my (and the vast majority of people's) reply would be an emphatic "meh."

Whats the harm in trying? I'm doing pretty much all the manual labour anyway ;P I just want input. There are virtually no videos out there that discuss strategy, why the hell not? No one has a face in this game, everyone pretty much just smurfs and stays quiet? why?

| 'Cause the "good" people out there don't care to try, don't play often, or simply are not interested in the game anymore.
To discuss strategy would be to write a who-knows-how-long manual. All strategies in the videos would have to be:
Opponent jumps high, chase him, hit him, back off.
Opponent attacks, dodge, counter...
Strategy is too in depth, especially for the beginners who would be most likely struggling to work on their footwork/movement in general.
In a nutshell, there's no point, if you really want to do something like this, try going to ja+, I think you'll find that community much more willing to do something along those lines.

| Yes, like the idea and goals are ambitious, but there is far too much work with what I believe no end result...I'm sorry Dillon.
I'm out. *In a Dragon Den's voice"

The players make this game, but they don't want to be personal! How can I REALLY be the ONLY one that thinks it would be cool to commentate on fights! I think it would make TFFA's and even 1v1's more personable! Wouldn't you love to hear insight FROM good players on good players? Their own perception? Wouldnt you love to hear what Elm thinks, or any good player thinks when they see all the tension in the fights of this game? When a player is overconfident? when a player might be getting mad? the strategy they are using at one moment, the fact that some players switch strategies like the drop of a hat? The fact that there are tons of ways for fighters to get into each others heads? there is TONS of substance there. Can i REALLY be the ONLY person that LIKEs watching fights? NO way! :p You wouldn't even have to see the best fight the best all the time, its fun to watch newer players fight for me even... remembering platuea's i used to be at , talking about how they could improve, or how they could simply change their mood at that very moment. I HAVE A VISION! What i'm asking of NS, is to be willing to be guest commentators or fighters should the project take off ;p that is all (and of course, get anyone interested more involved) I know it sounds like a far shot, but i'm not trying to top any lists with JA... seriously, 200 people could start playing over the next year and that would (sadly) double the population of the game. When I look at it that way... going from the ground up, it seems more feasable. Whats the harm in trying huh? :p

| Indeed.
I'm going to be honest with you Dillon.
This idea would have been great and probably was done to some extent in the past, but would be rather useless nowadays. Personally, I've given up on JKJA in terms of expecting large crowds and activity as well as people caring anymore because...well there is nothing to care about anymore.
I've moved on to games where people care and there is actual competition.
I'm not talking about just like 50 guys being as good as me. I'm talking about thousands being as good and even better than me.
I'm not a hater. I just don't see it happening. I play JKJA nowadays not to do more strenuous work...just to relax and chill for whatever I can enjoy that is left of the game.

Hey, i understand the skeptism. I have a few people lined up to give the commentary a shot, just to see how it goes. No harm in failing, if it doesn't work, at least it will be fun. Again, im not trying to turn this game into a bonified E-sport, just to generate more hype then there currently is.

They're trying to produce activity within their community. Get some of your friends to join in there and maybe contribute to them. It's much more likely to work in a community than in the entire Game.
