+ follows the true story in just about every aspect
+ captures the moment EXTREMELY well
+ great addition of humour to the plot
+ James Franco was fucking great in this movie (perfect role for him)
+ the arm-cutting scene was gruesome and VERY realistic
+ a truly inspirational story and movie (there's a book too)
+ a ton of suspense built for the amputation scene (you know it's coming)
I hardly ever give movies 10/10, so this is truly something I enjoyed.
It is playing at select theatres, so check the theatre websites to make sure it's playing near you.
WARNING: The amputation scene is pretty gruesome. Guests at my theatre have vomitted in the washroom (2 incidents in the past 3 days) because of that scene, so be prepared.
