| OKAY need some hopefully good advice here lol. I went to the bank today and parked in th parking at the back of the bank which is really poor and the spaces are very tight. When I was leaving I accidentally scuffed against the car next to me and drove off, before this happened I saw a woman talking to someone in a car like across from me. I panicked when it happened and just drove off I considered staying but I was drinking heavily last night and didn't want to lose my licence. I don't have the cars registration plate either. Is it likely the person will try to find me and if so what are the chances of them doing so? And what kind of fine/charge will I get if they do find me or will I just be able to pay them for damage repairs out of my pocket? I actually feel pretty bad to be honest and feel like a bit of a dick.. I'm actually a good driver lol and nothing like this has ever happened but I don't want to lose my licene over this hence why I drove off.. | |

| you prolly should lose your license if you're driving drunk, thats a pretty retarded thing to do. but w/e
if she doesn't have your plate number, then it's unlikely she will ever find you. although since its a bank, your ass was probably caught on the security cameras. if she was smart, she would have asked the police to review the security footage and it's likely they could find you if that happened. that would be classified as a hit and run, i don't know what the penalty for that is in the uk, but in usa that's about 5 grand, 3 month suspension of your license and your insurance gets bumped up about 25%.
you could have just written her a check for more than the damages would have been and the police/insurance wouldn't need to be involved. unless she's driving a mercedes or something, a little scuff isn't going to break the bank. so yeah, get the damage to you car fixed and hope nobody checked the security footage. if you ever see her again give her some cash roughly equal to the damages if you wanna own up.

| I weasn't drink driving mate, I was drinking the night before and sometimes it can still come up. I don't think they got the plate, and I don't think there is any security cameras outside the bank as it's a small bank and it was in the parking area. The damage wasn't anything really bad the cars just scratched against each other. Also I went back to the car park with a note to put on the car with my details saying I would pay for any damages to be fixed probably about 100-200 tops but the car wasn't there anymore. | |

| lol don't worry about it. Nothing you can do at this point, you probably should've written the note as you did it, but if it's a small ding probably wont notice it happened until later at which point they wont know when/where they got the ding. And the people in the parking lot would've had to memorize your license and tell the person whose car it was, and most people dont care enough about strangers to go that far out of the way to help them. Trust me, I know, my car's been dinged several times and jack shit i could do in terms of finding out who did it.
And if they do hunt you down somehow, then you're just really unlucky xD

| never heard of alcohol coming up in a test if you drank like 12 hours before unless you were like hitting .3%
there are always cameras in bank parking lots over here, they will get you on every angle. still, i guess that doesn't apply to the uk since we put cameras everywhere in usa. you probably dont have to worry about it, she will probably go back to the same bank again so ull probably get a chance to pay her back

I think it was noticable but I checked my car and its just scratches nothing serious like a big dent or anything. My gran payed for my insurance aswell so I didn't want it to go up hence why I wrote on the note about not getting the insurance companies involved. - Quote :

I really don't think there is cameras although I could be wrong not sure, all I can do really is not worry about it if they find me then I can pay them just hope I don't get a criminal charge or lose my licence the money doesn't really bother me it won't be that much to fix.

| Idk .. i think i remember once you said that you were living in a small town .. if so i agree with those saying you should find her and pay... but again, you dont really know on who you fell on .. could be a guy like the one playing in ''TAKEN'' and that will kill everybody to get to you .. but thats pretty much improbable ..
If you were sober i would have just stay there and wait to deal it live with that person .. (even if you were drunk she wasnt going to like call the police since youll just tell her yould pay for everything ... idk .. but here in quebec Police scares us lol ... so if we can pass away from them we are happy also she would have are assurance charge getting up as well ..
Nothing you can do now .. if you see her agai ntell her sorry ... but no need for you to like do all bank shop of your town till you find her ...
ps: you should try to grow yourself a moustache ... just in case

| Well for me...you wouldn't really have to run if you had nothing to hide...I mean they don't just measure your alcohol level from a breathalizer test and then deem you DRUNK!
Anyway, I understand you were scared though, but if I was her, I would fucking hate you. Period. I would be like "WHAT KIND OF ASSHOLE SCRATCHES A CAR AND THEN DRIVES OFF?!"
No but seriously we know you're not a fucking asshole (or at least some of us *winkwink*), so don't lose sleep over it.
