Chances are yall already know this, but there are plenty of ppl admining servers who dont, so please pass it on.



Before you go to kick or ban someone, A. make sure that you use /amstatus to get thier status number.
B. use the status number ONLY to kick or ban someone (some will change thier name to 1 in hopes that you will kick or ban the person whose status number is 1.)
C.Check to make sure there are not two people with the same or very similar names on first, use tab or amstatus to do this.
D. if there are two, and you can ghost, then ghost yourself before doing this step, if you cant ghost, then just teleport to the first person status number wise that has that name. If they are not the lamer, then immediately kick/ban the other person.
E. if you cant ban, then report it to someone who can. An example of yer /amstatus list:

1. Bobbafett plugin 1.3
2. YoMama plugin 1.3
3. Submit plugin 1.4 beta
4 Slamdunk plugin 1.3
5. Private No Plugin
6. SIamdunk plugin 1.3

In game, both Slamdunk and SIamdunk will look the same as the I and lower case L look identical. So you would teleport as so: /amtele 4. then You would notice that the original slamdunk isnt lameing, IMMEDIATELY kick or ban 6. If you dont have ban and someone with ban is on, or who might have ban, PRIVATE MESSAGE THEM, explain the situation (or babble it via admin chat) and say that there is a Mimic, the Mimic's number is 6, he is currently mimicing number 4 who is slamdunk. Please ban number 6.

Hopefully this way we will avoid further incidences of people getting kicked or banned when they are innocent.

Mimic's are irritating and can royally disrupt the guests and the members of a server. Please, pass this information on to any admin that you know. Thank you.

It may not mean nada on base, but basers tend to wander on to JA + servers periodically, therefore.... they can share the info with thier 'friends' and suchlike. Thus the information gets around. Sides, it never hurts to make sure the information is out there. Btw, you the skitz that was in eSS? if so howdy, if not , nice ta meetcha

If you're a good server administrator, all you need is /clientkick and /addip. There's no point talking about JA+ gimmicks on a purely basejka competitive clan forum.

Thx for the link copy, already passed it there. Like i said, base players still know folks in JA+ therefore, theres a chance they may pass the msg on to where it can be useful. I'll keep the /clientkick and /addip in mind though, haven't bumped into them before. As for the base thing, while I have played on base a bit, havent had a good chance to get to know the differences between the two entirely yet. Started playing on JA+ and thats the only place I've adminned, so its a bit hard to know whats helpful and what isnt

The problem is that what you're passing on is entirely 100% based around JA+ and has absolutely no use on the servers running basejka, ClanMod, MBII, or the other few lesser mods out there.

Take a look here for a very detailed list. All of those commands are guaranteed to work across ALL quake 3 engine games including JKA; mods or not. That's my preferred way of doing it.

If you want to go market JA+ commands that are available to everyone on the JA+ website, go market it to the appropriate audience - JA+.

Thank you Kapkin You may not go to JA + servers but i know others do, hence the posting. I am planning on making another post later this year that will be hitting every clan, group, organization, team ect that I can reach JKA wise, as well as a few that no longer play due to bordom but used to play. I think that one will perhaps be better recieved.
