Firefox 4 Released

As a reborn Mozilla fanboy, I can't let this pass up.

Mozilla Firefox 4.0 was released yesterday for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. Many of you probably switched to other browsers like Google Chrome due to superior performance and a more simple UI. Firefox 4 redesigned the UI as well as put a huge focus on under-the-hood changes that drastically improve usage for a lot of people.

Some new stuff..

- Improved HTML5 support
- GPU acceleration enabled. Click here for samples of new WebGL capabilities thanks to this.
- Better interface
- "App tabs" for sites you visit a lot.
- Tab grouping with "Panorama" for those of you who have too many tabs open at once.
- Much better scores on benchmarking tests compared to Firefox 3.x

I switched to Google Chrome last summer due to the direction Firefox was going. Firefox crashed a lot, felt slow, clunky, and overall just kinda started to suck. I started using the Firefox 4 betas back in September, but still kept going back to Chrome. Now, I've finally switched back to Firefox.

I'm using Firefox 4, but it's nothing new...like it's not a big change for me.

WebGL support and wider HTML5 support is a big thing and will eventually make things a lot easier. Hardware acceleration doesn't hurt either Smile
